...and a jolly good thing too. Described here. As the attached article points out, currently only in the US, though with the expectation that it will be rolled out elsewhere. Can't help wondering how this will impact on smaller more focused providers like OpenCycleMap, who focus on this; Google might not do it so well, but millions of people will never find that out. Worth pointing out too that Transport For London does offer cycle routes on its journey planner, and that these are based on Google Maps.
