The re-enchantment of public transport

A comment made by the very wonderful Dominique Laousse of RATP in his presentation at the 'The Well Connected City' earlier this week got me thinking: why not making public transport really enchanting? Why not stewards/stewardesses, and in-journey entertainment?

Here is a first pass, based on US buses in the 1950s -- yes, and I know this was probably a racially segregated bus. But that doesn't mean in-journey coffee service is a bad idea.
