CCTV on buses

Lots of buses are equipped with CCTV. Backhauling this to a real-time surveillance and control centre goes some way to making bus travel safer and therefore more attractive (or less unattractive, anyway). All 8000 buses under Transport for London have on-board CCTV, but so far the video has been stored on the bus rather than transmitted in real time.

Look CCTV supplies systems to lots of bus companies. 21st Century TV, though, is the supplier to a north London trial which is using Icomera kit to provide connectivity.

There's another trial going on in Portsmouth, using kit supplied by Now Wireless, based on MESH rather than cellular for connectivity. Presumably coverage is more of a challenge.
